In-storage car care
In-storage car care is mandatory for all Saab cars, with a maximum interval of 60 days, until the car is sold. See Policies and Procedures.
Perform checks and confirm by signing the report.
Refer to service information and procedures when rectifying faults.

Inspection and rectification points
1. Check that the paint protector is intact. If it needs making good, the car must first be washed so that dust and dirt will not be enclosed. Inspect the paint work, make a note of any damage and apply fresh paint protector.

IMPORTANT Paint protector hardens when exposed to UV radiation and heat. It must therefore be replaced at intervals of three to six months. The six month intervals can only be applied with confidence in winter climates.

RAPGARD paint protector must only be left on for a maximum of 3 months and must then be removed. For removing, see the section "Final dismantling and finishing measures.
2. Fill the fuel tank to at least 2/3 full to prevent the fuel pump from running dry.
3. Check the battery condition, see batter, check.








4. Check the engine oil. If the oil is thick or contains lumps, both the oil and oil filter must be replaced.
5. Warm up the engine until the radiator fan cuts in. At low idling speed, turn on the A/C or ACC.





Check the tire pressures and if necessary adjust to 3.5 bar (50 psi).

IMPORTANT If the car is parked for lengthier periods with under inflated tires, a flat area will be formed on them where they rest on the ground. This gives rise to vibration and makes wheel balancing more difficult.

7. Check the level of the coolant.
8. Drive the car for at least 200 meters, applying the brakes briefly and repeatedly so that the brake discs will be clean and dry.
9. Park the car facing in the opposite direction to equalize the effect of sunlight on it.
10. Open the bonnet to cool the engine down more rapidly.
11. Check the protective plastic on the seats and adjust if necessary.
12. Make sure that: The hand brake is released and in the off position. Reverse gear is engaged (manual gearbox), The selector lever is in position P (automatic transmission). All windows, doors and the luggage compartment are properly closed.
13. Lock the car.
14. Check the engine bay for signs of corrosion, especially the aluminum. If this is the case, treat the areas with Teroson Skyddsvax, part no. 30 15 914. Cover with a film of wax with no surplus (10-1 Sjum when dry).

IMPORTANT The protective wax may well be left on as engine bay protection when the car is delivered to a customer. If the customer will not accept the waxed surface, it must of course be washed off.

WARNING Bear in mind the fire risk. Make particularly sure that the temperature in the engine bay has gone down. Do not spray onto the e ends of the generator.

15. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery or remove the battery, and charge it. Close the bonnet.
