Basic Diagnostic ProcedurePROCEDURE
Note: This section is specified for H4SO engine (model).
CHECK PRE-INSPECTION.
Ask the customer when and how trouble occurred using interview checklist.
Before performing the diagnosis, inspect following items which might influence the AT problems.
^ General inspection
^ Oil leak
^ Stall speed test
^ Line pressure test
^ Transfer clutch pressure test
^ Time lag test
^ Road test
^ Inhibitor switch
Is the item that might influence AT problem normal?
Yes
Go to CHECK AT OIL TEMP WARNING LIGHT
No
Repair or replace each item.
CHECK AT OIL TEMP WARNING LIGHT.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Does the AT OIL TEMP warning light illuminate?
Yes
Go to CHECK INDICATION OF DTC
No
Go to next step
CHECK AT OIL TEMP WARNING LIGHT.
Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Repair the AT OIL TEMP warning light circuit or power supply and ground line circuit.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Is the AT OIL TEMP warning light illuminate?
Yes
Go to CHECK INDICATION OF DTC
No
Go to PERFORM THE GENERAL DIAGNOSTICS
CHECK INDICATION OF DTC.
Calling up the DTC.
Note: If the communication function of Vehicle Diagnostic Interface cannot be executed normally, check the communication circuit.
Is the DTC displayed?
Yes
^ Note: Record all DTC.
Go to PERFORM THE DIAGNOSIS
No
Go to PERFORM THE GENERAL DIAGNOSTICS
PERFORM THE GENERAL DIAGNOSTICS.
Inspect using Diagnostic Procedure without DTC.
Inspect using Symptom Related Diagnostic.
Perform the clear memory mode.
Perform the inspection mode.
Calling up the DTC.
Is the DTC displayed?
Yes
Go to PERFORM THE DIAGNOSIS
No
Complete the diagnosis.
PERFORM THE DIAGNOSIS.
Inspect using "Diagnostics Chart with DTC".
Note: For DTC table, refer to "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)". Transmission Codes
Repair the trouble cause.
Perform the clear memory mode.
Perform the inspection mode.
Calling up the DTC.
Is the DTC displayed?
Yes
Inspect using "Diagnostics Procedure with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)".
No
Complete the diagnosis.
