Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The adjustable pedal motor control circuits are controlled by the adjustable pedal relay. The adjustable pedal relay may be controlled by either the memory seat module (MSM) or the adjustable pedal switch. In an inactive state both of the relay switch contacts are closed to the ground circuit. The relay coils are energized when battery voltage is supplied to the relay control circuits by either the MSM or the adjustable pedal switch. When the forward control or rearward control relay coil is energized the appropriate motor control circuit is switched to the battery voltage supply circuit contact.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Verify DTCs B3606 or B3607 are not set as current.
• If either DTC is set as current, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle).
2. Ignition ON, with a scan tool, command the adjustable pedals forward and rearward. Verify the pedal assembly moves as commanded.
• If the pedal assembly does not move as commanded, perform the Adjustable Pedals Motor Control Relay test.
3. Ignition OFF, operate the adjustable pedals forward and rearward with the adjustable pedal switch. Verify the pedal assembly moves as commanded.
• If the pedal assembly does not move as commanded, perform the Adjustable Pedals Switch test.
4. Ignition ON, gear selector in PARK, operate the adjustable pedals from the adjustable pedal switch. Verify the pedal assembly moves forward and rearward as commanded.
• If the pedal assembly does not move as commanded, perform the Adjustable Pedals Underhood Relay test.
5. Ignition ON, gear selector in DRIVE or REVERSE, operate the adjustable pedals from the adjustable pedals switch. Verify the pedal assembly DOES NOT move forward or rearward.
• If the pedal assembly moves, perform the Adjustable Pedals Underhood Relay test.
Circuit/System Testing
Adjustable Pedals Switch
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the adjustable pedal switch. Connect a test lamp between terminal C of the adjustable pedals switch connector and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the adjustable pedals switch voltage supply circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, refer to the adjustable pedal underhood relay test.
2. Connect a test lamp between terminal A and ground. Verify the test lamp does not illuminate.
• If the test lamp illuminates, test the relay forward control circuit for a short to voltage.
3. Connect a test lamp between terminal B and ground. Verify the test lamp does not illuminate.
• If the test lamp illuminates, test the relay rearward control circuit for a short to voltage.
4. Reconnect the adjustable pedal switch. Disconnect the adjustable pedal motor control relay.
5. Actuate the adjustable pedals forward switch. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay forward control circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance.
6. Actuate the adjustable pedals rearward switch. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay rearward control circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance.
7. If all the circuits test normal, replace the adjustable pedals switch.
Adjustable Pedals Underhood Relay (EAP Relay)
1. Refer to Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Description and Operation (Description and Operation). Verify the shift lock control operates as described.
• If the shift lock control does not operate properly, refer to Symptoms - Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control (Symptoms - Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control).
2. Ignition OFF, disconnect the EAP relay.
3. Connect a test lamp between the relay switch B+ circuit and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay switch B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
4. Connect a test lamp between the relay switch B+ circuit and the relay coil ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay coil ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
5. Ignition ON, connect a test lamp between the relay coil ignition voltage circuit and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay coil ignition voltage circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
6. Ignition ON, gear selector in PARK. Connect a test lamp between the relay switch PNP controlled input circuit and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay switch PNP controlled input circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
7. Gear selector in DRIVE or REVERSE. Verify the test lamp does not illuminate.
• If the test lamp illuminates, test the relay switch PNP controlled input circuit for a short to voltage.
8. Ignition OFF, reconnect the EAP relay. Disconnect the adjustable pedals switch.
9. Connect a test lamp between the adjustable pedals switch harness connector terminal C and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay switch controlled output circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EAP relay.
10. Ignition ON, gear selector in PARK. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, replace the EAP relay.
11. Gear selector in DRIVE or REVERSE. Verify the test lamp does not illuminate.
• If the test lamp illuminates, replace the EAP relay.
Adjustable Pedals Motor Control Relay
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the adjustable pedals motor control relay. Connect a test lamp between the relay connector terminal C and ground. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the adjustable pedals relay voltage supply circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance.
2. Connect a test lamp between terminals C and D of the relay connector. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the relay ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
3. Connect a test lamp between terminals A and D of the relay connector. Actuate the adjustable pedal forward switch. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the adjustable pedals relay forward control circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, perform the adjustable pedal switch test.
4. Connect a test lamp between terminals D and F of the relay connector. Actuate the adjustable pedal rearward switch. Verify the test lamp illuminates.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the adjustable pedals relay rearward control circuit for an open or high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, perform the adjustable pedal switch test.
5. Reconnect the adjustable pedals motor control relay.
6. Disconnect the adjustable pedals assembly connector. Connect a test lamp between terminals 4 and 5 of the connector. Actuate the adjustable pedals switch forward and rearward. The test lamp should illuminate when a switch is activated, and remain OFF with the switch released.
• If the test lamp remains illuminated at all times, test the motor control circuits for a short to voltage. If the circuits test normal, replace the adjustable pedal motor control relay.
