Information On New Torques for Powertrain Mounts, Steering Gear-to-Cradle and Park Brake Fastener Nuts
MODELS AFFECTED:
1991-1992 Saturns
PURPOSE:
Due to a revision to the fastener nut P/N 21006320, the torque ratings for these fastener nuts have been revised. To identify the new nut from the old nut, refer to the illustration. The only way to identify the new fastener nut from the old fastener nut is by the number of "Stakes" found on the top of the fastener nut. The old design fastener nut will have "3-stakes" and the new designed fastener nut will only have "2-stakes."
NOTE:
If any of these fastener nuts are removed for service, always replace the fastener nut with a new "2-stake" nut.
The chart lists the applications for the fastener nuts and the new torque values that must be used when tightening one of these fastener nuts.
