INFORMATION FLAG PARAMETERS
Info. Flag 89 is set when the PCM has detected the following conditions.
^ Hold mode voltage to PCM terminal J3E13 (Circuit 1332) is greater than three volts.
^ Relay has been commanded off by the PCM.
^ Key on, engine off.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Numbered steps below refer to numbered steps on chart.
1. This step verifies problem is still present.
2. If relay contacts are stuck closed Info. Flag 89 will be set. This step will indicate a faulty relay.
3. If Circuit 1531 is shorted to ground Info. Flag 89 will be set. This step checks for a ground in Circuit 1531.
4. If Circuit 999 or 1532 is shorted to voltage Info. Flag 89 will be set. This step indicates a short to voltage in Circuit 999 or 1532 or a damaged PCM.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
When attempting to diagnose an intermittent problem use the Scan tool* to review supplemental diagnostic information. The supplemental data can be used to duplicate a problem.
* Select MALF History from Scan tool TCM menu.
Check the tightness of the female terminal grip with a spare male terminal.
