Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Letter to Owner - Involved

January 27, 1993

Dear Saturn Owner:

We understand that you have purchased a 1993 Saturn, and we're very happy about that. Obviously, we want your experience owning this car to be better than any other you've had ... which is why we're writing.

Recently, we learned that your windshield wipers may not perform as they should. What this means is that, after some period of operation, the wipers may cease to function properly at some settings. However, this condition does not affect the operation of the windshield wipers at the high speed setting. So if you need to use them prior to having repairs completed, just switch to the high speed. Of course, we know that you'll want to have the wipers repaired as soon as possible. The parts needed for the repair are expected to begin arriving at your Retail facility Wednesday, February 3.

What Saturn will do:
Replace the windshield wiper motor assembly at no charge to you and with the least possible inconvenience.

What you should do:
Contact your Saturn Retailer and arrange to have this service performed. Repairs shouldn't take more than an hour and a half ... although some additional time may be required for paperwork and processing.

What you should know: There's a slight chance that you may have already experienced this problem prior to receiving this letter, and had the wiper motor assembly replaced by your Retailer. Since we're certain that our service stock of wiper motor assemblies has always consisted entirely of good parts, there is no need to have this repair performed again. If you have a question about previous repairs, please contact your Retailer.

We want you to know that we sincerely regret any inconvenience this causes you. If you have any questions or need any assistance. just contact your Retailer or the Saturn Assistance Center (1-800-553-6000).
