Subject: Material Safety Data Sheets

This bulletin is a reminder that retail personnel should be aware of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) which provide handling and usage guidelines relating to particular materials retail personnel might come in contact with when servicing Saturn vehicles.

For example, one of these materials, anti-freeze/coolant, contains certain substances for which the Retailer and technicians must take proper precautions. We suggest that guidelines contained in the MSDS for anti-freeze/coolant which is provided in Saturn Parts and Accessories Bulletin 90-PA-01, dated October 1990 (refer to attached) and the Saturn Service Manual be utilized whenever retail personnel are servicing Saturn vehicle cooling systems. Please note that the Saturn Service Manual recommends the use of safety goggles to prevent eye contact when performing certain service procedures involving the cooling system.
