Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
Headlamp SwitchRefer to Lever Combination Switch (LCS) for testing. Testing and Inspection
Repair/replace as needed.
If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the Complaint-Condition Chart.
Turn/Hazard Switch
Refer to Lever Combination Switch (LCS) for testing. Testing and Inspection
Repair/replace as needed.
If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the Complaint-Condition Chart.
Park Brake Switch
Check the BRAKE telltale. It should light with the park brake On. It should not be lit with the park brake Off (under normal operating conditions).
Check for park brake switch resistance.
Switch Resistance: Open when the park brake is Off. Less than one ohm when the park brake is On.
Repair/replace as needed.
If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the Complaint-Condition Chart.
Flasher Module
Flasher Module:
DRL, Left #1 and #2, Right #1 and #2 Relays
The Lock, Unlock and DRL relays are interchangeable only with each other.
Substitute another relay to see if the problem is fixed. Repair/replace as needed.

Front Park/Turn Lamp Assemblies
Check connections and terminals for damage, tightness, or corrosion.
Repair/replace as needed.
If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the Complaint-Condition Chart.
Front Park/Turn Lamp Bulbs
Check connections and terminals for damage, tightness, or corrosion.
Visually inspect the part/turn lamp bulbs. Check resistance through the bulb.
Repair/replace as needed.
If this component is good go to the next item indicated on the Complaint-Condition Chart.
Instrument Panel Cluster and DRL Logic
The DRL Logic is not separately replaceable from The instrument panel cluster.
With the key in the RUN position the following readings should appear when taking measurements at the pins of the instrument cluster harness connector (instrument cluster removed).
Black Connector:
Natural Connector:
If any of the above checks fail, repair an open/short in the malfunctioning circuit.
If all the above checks are correct and all other possible causes are ok, the problem is most likely the cluster (connections, flex circuits, etc.) or the DRL Logic (which is located internal to the cluster housing). Replace instrument panel cluster housing, refer to "Audio System and I/P Cluster for procedures. Verify that the complaint has been fixed.
Repair/replace as needed.
