DTC 82

Electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) is used to store the control algorithm and diagnostic calibrations inside the ABS control module. These functions are checked regularly for accuracy. Changes to these calibrations could result in unpredictable operation of the ABS. If any faults are detected, the antilock telltale lamp will turn On and the ABS will be disabled.

CODE PARAMETERS
Code 82 will set if:
^ The ABS control module detects an internal error.

Incomplete calibration download.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If code 82 is set and the ABS controller is not a service replacement part, the ABS controller should be replaced.

If code 82 is set with other codes, diagnose code 82 first.

IMPORTANT: The service replacement ABS control module has a code 82 stored in it, and must be reprogrammed with the correct ABS calibration and options.
