BULLETIN NO.: 99-T-22

ISSUE DATE: July, 1999

GROUP/SEQ. NO.: HVAC-03

CORPORATION NO.: 99-01-37-003

SUBJECT:
Service Information on Changes to A/C System Oil Charge on Production A/C Compressors

MODELS AFFECTED:
1999 Saturn S-Series vehicles built between and including VINs
XZ298723 and XZ298804 and vehicles built after and including VIN

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this bulletin is to provide information about changes to the A/C system oil charge.

Vehicles built within the above breakpoints contain an additional 5Occ of PAG oil. This makes the total A/C system oil charge 200cc.

These vehicles can also be identified by locating the label on the rear of the compressor. On this label, "OIL QTY" will read "2OOcc." (Refer to illustration in this bulletin.)

It is necessary for the A/C system to maintain an oil charge of 2OOcc. In order to maintain the appropriate oil charge, refer to "Compressor Oil Measurement" in the Service section of the 98-99 HVAC Service Manual.
