INDICATORS

DIC WARNING MESSAGES

CHANGE ENGINE OIL
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives a class 2 message from the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) indicating that the engine oil should be changed.

CHECK GAGES
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives a class 2 message from the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) indicating that the engine coolant temperature is over 123°C (253°F). This message is disabled when the engine coolant temperature is below 120°C (248°F).

LOW FUEL
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives a class 2 message from the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) indicating the fuel level percent. The IPC displays the LOW FUEL message when the fuel level is at or below 10 percent. When the fuel level is above 25 percent, the LOW FUEL message is turned OFF.

LOW OIL PRESSURE
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the engine oil pressure indicator when the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) detects low engine oil pressure, and the signal circuit is low. The IPC receives a class 2 message requesting illumination from the ECM/PCM.

OIL LIFE
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the OIL LIFE message when the message center is in oil life monitor reset mode. When this message is displayed, the oil life monitor in the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) can be reset by holding the trip reset button for a few seconds. The ECM/PCM receives a class 2 message from the IPC to reset the oil life monitor.

RESET
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the RESET message after the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) has received an oil life monitor reset request, via a class 2 message.

SERVICE VEHICLE
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the SERVICE VEHICLE message when it receives a request from any module because of a detected problem.

SHIFT INDICATOR
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the shift indicator when the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) determines that the vehicle should be shifted to the next higher gear. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the ECM/PCM requesting illumination.
