Transmission Fluid Pump Assemble

J 35582 - Oil Pump Seal Installer

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools (Tools and Equipment).




1. Coat the inner surface of the fluid pump body (187) with ATF.
2. Using J 35582 - seal installer , drive in a new fluid pump body seal assembly (186). The seal end should be flush with the outer edge of the fluid pump body.
3. Coat the oil seal lip with grease.




4. Coat the inner surface of the fluid pump body (187) with ATF.
5. Install the fluid pump body drive gear (190) and the fluid pump body driven gear (189) to the fluid pump body.




6. Align the fluid pump cover and stator shaft assembly (191) with each bolt hole of the fluid pump body and temporally tighten the 8 fluid pump cover bolts (192).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

7. Torque the 8 fluid pump cover bolts (192) uniformly. Tighten bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).





Note: Be careful not to damage the fluid seal lip.

8. Install the transmission fluid pump assembly (2) on the torque converter (1).
9. Rotate the transmission fluid pump assembly (2) back and forth to make sure it turns freely.




10. Install the 2 fluid pump cover O-ring seals (193).
