Installation








SLIDING ROOF: SLIDING ROOF HOUSING: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF WEATHERSTRIP






(a) Install the sliding roof weatherstrip as described below.
(1) Engage each corner of the weatherstrip so that each weatherstrip mark is aligned with the sliding roof glass center mark. After attaching the entire weatherstrip, check that all weatherstrip marks are within the sliding roof glass end marks.
(2) Make sure that the weatherstrip cutout is toward the rear side of the vehicle and centered.
(3) Make sure that the weatherstrip is securely installed as shown in the illustration.
2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the sliding roof housing sub-assembly with the 4 bolts and the 7 nuts.





Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)
(b) Install the 4 sliding roof drain hoses so that each mark faces downward.





HINT: Slide the sliding roof drain hose onto the sliding roof piece. Push the hose to the back of the piece, with at least 20 mm of overlap, as shown by (a) in the illustration.





(c) Engage the claw and install the map light bracket.
(d) Install the nut.
Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)






(e) Install the curtain shield airbag RH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

3. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a "TORX" socket wrench T25, temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.









(b) Perform a level check.
(1) Check the difference in level for "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the weatherstrip when the sliding roof glass is fully closed.
Standard:





HINT: "+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level. "-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.





(c) Perform a gap check.
(1) Check the gap between the roof panel and roof glass.
NOTE: The gap must be even all around.

(d) After adjusting the sliding roof glass, using a T25 "TORX" driver, install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf)
4. INSPECT FOR WATER LEAK
(a) After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, inspect for water leaks.
(b) If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
5. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH






(a) Engage the 5 claws and install the sliding roof side garnish RH.
6. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
HINT: Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.

7. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the roof headlining Installation.
8. CONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
