Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

METER: METER / GAUGE SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR

DTC CHECK / CLEAR

1. CHECK DTC
(a) Connect an intelligent tester or a Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester on.
(c) Enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / (desired system) / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
(2) Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check for DTCs and then write them down.
HINT: Refer to the tester operator's manual for further details.

(e) Confirm the details of the DTCs .
2. CLEAR DTC
(a) Connect an intelligent tester or a Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG) (do not start the engine) and turn the tester on.
(c) Enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / (desired system) / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
(2) Techstream - Select: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Trouble Codes.

(d) Erase DTCs by pressing the YES button on the tester.
