Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

POWER STEERING: POWER STEERING SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR

DTC CHECK / CLEAR

1. CHECK DTC
(a) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
(b) Connect an intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester or Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / CHASSIS / EMPS / DTC INFO /
(2) Techstream - Select: Chassis / EMPS / Trouble Codes /
(e) Read the DTCs by following the prompts on the intelligent tester or Techstream.
HINT: Refer to the intelligent tester or Techstream operator's manual for further details.

2. CLEAR DTC
(a) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
(b) Connect an intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester or Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus:
(1) Intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS / OBD/MOBD / CHASSIS / EMPS / DTC INFO /
(2) Techstream - Select: Chassis / EMPS / Trouble Codes /
(e) Clear the DTCs by following the prompts on the intelligent tester or Techstream.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
(g) Disconnect the intelligent tester or Techstream from the DLC3.
