2AZ-FE COOLING: THERMOSTAT: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL THERMOSTAT

(a) Install a new gasket onto the thermostat.





(b) Install the thermostat with the jiggle valve upward.

HINT
The jiggle valve may be set to within 10° on either side of the prescribed position.

2. INSTALL INLET WATER

(a) Install the inlet water with the 2 nuts.





Torque : 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf)

3. CONNECT OUTLET RADIATOR HOSE

(a) Connect the outlet radiator hose to the water inlet with the hose clamp.





4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection

6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
