Installation
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION; 2013 MY FR-S [03/2012 -]
1. INSTALL AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
The power window system utilizes a mechanism that the door glass moves down slightly when the door is opened, and that the glass moves up when closing the door in order to prevent the door molding from being damaged. When the battery negative (-) terminal needs to be disconnected for servicing, fully open the driver and passenger door glasses in advance.
(c) Install the airbag sensor assembly with the new bolt and 2 new nuts.
Torque : 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf)
NOTICE:
* If the airbag sensor assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
* When installing the airbag sensor assembly, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with or is not pinched between other parts.
* When the ignition switch is first turned on (IG) after the airbag sensor assembly has been replaced, make sure that no one is in the vehicle.
(d) Connect the connectors to the airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.
NOTICE:
When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(e) Check that the waterproof sheet is properly set.
(f) Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the airbag sensor assembly.
2. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Torque : 6.0 Nm (61 kgf-cm, 53 in-lbf)
4. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
