Fuel Gauge: Testing and Inspection

1. While moving float, determine Full point and Empty point.

2. Measure resistance between terminals shown in Fig. 5, when float is at Full and Empty points.
a. Resistance on either unit should be 1-3 ohms at Full point.
b. On main unit, resistance should be 54.1-56.1 at Empty point.
c. On sub unit, resistance should be 50.9-52.9 at Empty point.
3. Ensure resistance gradually changes when float is slowly moved from Full to Empty.
