STI - TOWING BEHIND MOTOR HOMES

If you get inquiries from customers about towing a Subaru Impreza STi behind a motor home, you can instruct them it can be towed with ALL four wheels on the ground like conventional manual transmission vehicles of the Legacy, Forester, and Impreza lines.

However, the STi model has the DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Differential), and it must be set in manual mode and the DCCD control dial must be set to the furthest rearward position.

Also, as with other Subaru models with manual transmissions, make sure:

^ The transmission is in the Neutral position

^ Do not apply the parking brake

^ The ignition switch should be in the "ACC" position

^ All four (4) tires should be the same brand and old and new tires should not be mixed

^ Make sure all four tire pressures are maintained correctly.

^ Make certain that differential and transmission oil levels are proper. Refer to T.S.B. 01-162-05 for additional information.
