Torque Specification
Cylinder head boltsIn alphabetical sequence:
Tighten all bolts 29 Nm (3.0 kgf-m, 22 ft. lbs.)
Then tighten all bolts 69 Nm (7.0 kgf-m, 51 ft. lbs.)
Back off all the bolts in reverse order 180°
Back them off again 180°
Tighten all bolts 42 Nm (3.9 kgf-m, 31 ft. lbs.)
Tighten all bolts 80 to 90°
Tighten all bolts 40 to 45°
CAUTION: The tightening angle of the bolt should not exceed 45°
Further tighten the bolts (a) and (b) by 40 45°
CAUTION: Make sure the total "re-tightening angle" of the step (6) and (7) does not exceed 90°
Camshaft Cap
Temporarily tighten the bolts (a) through (d) in alphabetical sequence.
Install the valve rocker assembly.
Tighten the TORX bolts (e) through (j) in alphabetical sequence using ST. ST 499497000 TORX plus
Tightening torque 18 Nm (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 ft. lbs.)
Tighten the bolts (k) through (r) in alphabetical sequence.
Tightening torque 9.75 Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.2 ft. lbs.)
Tighten the bolts (s) and (t) in alphabetical sequence.
Tightening torque 9.75 Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.2 ft. lbs.)
Connecting rod nuts 45 Nm (4.6 kgf-m, 33.3 ft. lbs.)
Crank pulley 180 Nm (18.4 kgf-m, 132.8 ft. lbs.)
Drive plate 72 Nm (7.3 kgf-m, 52.8 ft. lbs.)
Flywheel 72 Nm (7.3 kgf-m, 52.8 ft. lbs.)
Oil Pump 6.4 Nm (0.65 kgf-m, 4.7 ft. lbs.)
Front exhaust pipe 30 Nm (3.1 kgf-m, 22.4 ft. lbs.)
Water Pump
When installing the water pump, tighten the bolts in two stages in alphabetical sequence as shown in figure.
