Campaign - Second Row Seat Back Hinge: Overview

NUMBER: WVA-11
DATE: January 2007

APPLICABILITY: 2006~07MY B9 Tribeca
SUBJECT: Second Row Seatback Hinge

INTRODUCTION
Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) has determined that certain 2006~2007MY Subaru B9 Tribeca models may have been produced with a left and/or right second row seatback hinge mechanism that may not have been heat treated during production. This heat treating process is intended to provide additional strength to the component and is called for in the original engineering specifications.

This service program will involve inspection of the lot numbers on both the left and right second row seatback hinge mechanisms. The lot number will determine if replacement is necessary. Since the hinge is an integral part of the seatback frame, frame replacement will be required if the hinge lot number is found to be within the affected range. Please refer to the Service Procedure section of this bulletin for more details.
