Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Evaporator

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2. Using the refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant.
3. Remove the bolt and detach the pipe from the expansion valve.






4. Remove the instrument panel lower.
5. Remove the blower motor unit.
6. Remove the two screws and remove the evaporator pipe cover.






7. Remove the two bolts and remove the evaporator pipe.






8. Remove the two screws and clip and remove the evaporator cover.






9. Remove the evaporator.

CAUTION: If the evaporator is replaced, add an appropriate amount of compressor oil to evaporator.






INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
- Make sure that the water seal gasket on the cover attachment area is securely attached.
- Install the sensor in the location shown in the figures below.







1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
2. Fill engine coolant.
3. Charge refrigerant.
