SUBJECT: Compass "Locks-Up" In One Direction
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform you there is a re-flash available for the Auto-Dimming Mirror with Compass, Back-Up Camera Display and HomeLink(R). There was a software "glitch" that gives the potential for the compass direction to lock-up and stay in one direction until the vehicle tracks a circle. At that time, the compass will reset and return to normal function.
COUNTERMEASURE IN PRODUCTION
The updated software was used in production the end of July, 2010.
TOOLS REQUIRED

Plastic white trim tool
Note:
Each dealer will receive a field flash box free of charge directly from the vendor. Shipment will start the week of September 6, 2010.
For replacement field flash boxes or questions regarding the re-flash procedure contact the Subaru TechLine.
