Removal
WARNING: When removing torsion bar, be careful for its repulsion.
1. Remove trunk lid trim (if equipped).
2. Remove trunk lid opener wire and trunk room harness from trunk lid panel (1).
3. Remove trunk lid attaching bolts (2) and trunk lid.
NOTE: Handle removed trunk lid carefully. Dropping it can cause damage to itself and vehicle body.
4. Remove torsion bars (1).
5. Fold rear seat back forward.
6. Remove center pillar inner lower trims (1) and side sill scuffs (2).
7. Remove high mounted stop light (if equipped).
8. Remove rear seat side backs (1).
9. Remove rear pillar inner trims (3), partition front trims (1) and partition trim (2).
10. Remove hinge attaching bolts (1) and take out trunk lid hinges.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following.
- Install torsion bars as following:
a. Open trunk lid and hold it.
b. Distinguish left side torsion bar (marking color: yellow) from right side torsion bar (marking color: blue) by marking color (1).
c. Apply grease to rotating part "A" of torsion bar.
"A": Grease 99000-25050 (SUZUKI Super Grease E)
d. Install edge (2) of torsion bar to upward and fit end (3) to groove of right side hinge bracket.
e. Install edge (2) of torsion bar to upward and fit end (3) to groove of left side hinge bracket.
NOTE: Be sure to wipe off excess grease thoroughly as it may stain trunk interior and luggage in it.
- Fore-and-aft and right-and-left adjustment. Adjust trunk lid clearance by loosening trunk lid mounting bolts (2).
- Adjust trunk lid latch striker (1) so that striker shaft approximately aligns with the center of groove of trunk lid latch.
- Tighten rear seat bolts referring to Rear Seat Components.
