Power Balance Test

Power Balance Test

CAUTION:
- Never increase engine speed higher than idling speed when power balance test has been performed. It could damage the engine.
- Be careful not to accumulate foreign materials (like dust and metallic particle) to engine. It could damage the engine.



NOTE: For identification of each cylinder, refer to Precautions for Identification of Cylinder.

1. For CVT model, place select lever in "P" and apply parking brake.
For M/T model, place gear shift lever in "Neutral" and apply parking brake.
2. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
3. Remove engine cover.
4. Disconnect fuel injector connector (1) for cylinder No.1.






5. Check that engine speed decreases from specified idle speed.
6. Repeat Step 4) and Step 5) for all cylinders, compare rates of engine speed decrease.
7. If rates of engine speed decrease are not in scale, check the following items.
- Fuel injector circuit
- Fuel injector
- Spark plug
- Ignition coil circuit
- Ignition coil

8. Clear DTC.
9. Install engine cover.
