DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

DTC Troubleshooting


1. Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES
Go to Step 2.
NO
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check.
2. Passenger air bag (inflator) module check
Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Check for proper connection to "Q101" or "Q106" connector.
Disconnect "Q101" or "Q106" connector.
Connect "STEERING WHEEL" (1) of special tool (A), (B) and (C) to "Q101" or "Q106" connector.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010

(B): 09932-78310

(C): 09932-75010





Check DTC with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON".
Is DTC B1041 or DTC B1045 detected?
YES
Go to Step 3.
NO
Replace passenger air bag (inflator) module. Removal and Installation
3. Passenger air bag (inflator) module circuit check
Check for proper connection to "G11" connector.
Disconnect "G11" connector.
Release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool included in special tool (A).
Check the following points.
Resistance between "G11-19" and "Q101-1" terminals (DTC B1041): 1 or less
Resistance between "G11-18" and "Q101-2" terminals (DTC B1041): 1 or less
Resistance between "G11-7" and "Q106-1" terminals (DTC B1045): 1 or less
Resistance between "G11-8" and "Q106-2" terminals (DTC B1045): 1 or less
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Are they in good condition?
YES
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck DTC. SDM Removal and Installation
NO
Go to Step 4.
4. Instrument panel harness circuit check
Check for proper connection to "G363" connector.
Disconnect "G363" connector.
Release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool included in special tool (A).
Check the following points.
Resistance of "A5" and "A6" circuits (DTC B1041): 1 or less
Resistance of "A7" and "A8" circuits (DTC B1045): 1 or less

Are they in good condition?
YES
Replace passenger air bag (inflator) module harness.
NO
Replace instrument panel harness.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance
if any DTC is detected.
- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check
to confirm that the trouble has been solved.
