Removal and Replacement




Rear Differential Dismounting and Remounting

Dismounting

1) Hoist vehicle and drain oil from rear differential. Removal and Replacement
2) Remove exhaust pipe No.2. Exhaust Pipe and Muffler Removal and Installation
3) Remove propeller shaft. Propeller Shaft Assembly Removal and Installation
4) Remove rear drive shaft assemblies. Rear Drive Shaft Assembly Removal and Installation
5) Disconnect coupling assembly connector, coupling air temperature sensor connector and breather hose.
6) Support rear differential with transmission jack.
7) Remove rear differential mounting front bracket bolts (1) and rear differential mounting bracket bolts (2), and then remove rear differential.






Remounting

Reverse dismounting procedure, noting the following points:

- Tighten rear differential mounting front bracket bolts (1) and rear differential mounting bracket bolts (2) to specified torque.

Tightening torque
Rear differential mounting front bracket bolt (a): 80 Nm (8.2 kgf-m, 59.0 lbf-ft)
Rear differential mounting bracket bolt (b): 80 Nm (8.2 kgf-m, 59.0 lbf-ft)





- When installing the companion flange that has been removed, align the flange marked while checking runout with the white mark on the propeller shaft.
