Early Fuel Evaporation ( EFE ): Testing and Inspection

1. Ensure that coolant temperature is less than 109°F.
2. Insert positive probe of voltmeter into rear of CMH heater connector and connect negative lead to intake manifold.
3. Turn ignition switch to on position but do not start engine. Meter should indicate no voltage.
4. Start engine while observing meter. With engine running and coolant below 131°F, meter should indicate voltage.
5. Run engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. With coolant above 131°F, meter should indicate no voltage.
6. If system fails to perform as outlined, check individual components.
