Transmission Cover:




Due to the existence of rough edges on the transmission housing, left during the casting process, there is the potential for the transmission cover in the Chassis Gravel Shield to contact the transmission housing. This may cause a vibration noise to occur at various RPM's.

If, after installing the Chassis Gravel Shield components, you encounter the vibration noise, the noise can be eliminated by grinding away the portion of the transmission cover making contact with the transmission. The cover may hit the transmission in the following locations:

The areas shown above can be modified very easily with a grinder or a round file. Do not attempt to fix the problem by grinding the rough areas on the transmission, or by adding washers to the front attachment bolts.

The transmission shield tooling has been modified to allow for variation in the transmission housing, however, the first 1,600 production sets were shipped prior to the modification.
