Camshaft Position Sensors (G1 and G2 Signals)
The Camshaft Position Sensor, located on the front, RH side of the engine, is necessitated by the absence of a distributor to send a signal to the ECU. The gear driven sensor consists of a three coil electro-magnetic pick-up mounted on the front of the exhaust camshaft. The generated signal is used to compute crankshaft position (TDC) and engine rpm. The Camshaft Position Sensor inputs the ECU through terminals G2, G1 and NE.
