TITLE: 1990 FUJITSU TEN CD PLAYERS SCRATCHING CD'S


The following 1990 model Fujitsu Ten CD players may exhibit scratching of CD's during insertion or ejection:

If the scratches occur, they will typically be straight and about 1-2 inches long on the label or playing surface of the CD as shown:

PRODUCTION CHANGE:

Fujitsu Ten has made the following production improvements to prevent this condition from occurring:

^ Design change of transport mechanism.
^ Prevention of foreign material contamination of the CD's transport mechanism.
^ Cleaning of transport mechanism.

IDENTIFICATION PROCEDURE:

The following procedure can be used to identify improved units:

^ Remanufactured CD players with the production change will have a 1/2 inch round brown sticker on the top cover (see current remanufactured inventory has been modified).

^ CD Players with the production change incorporated at the factory will either have a 1/4 inch green dot next to the serial number or have a serial number above 5600000. (CD Players with serial numbers above 5600000 will not have the 1/4 inch dot.)



SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS:

When shipping the CD Players, insert the shipping screw to prevent damage to the CD Player as illustrated below:
