Subject: Toyota Limited Lifetime Guarantee for Genuine Toyota Mufflers, Shock Absorbers, Struts and Strut Inserts

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. is pleased to announce the implementation of a limited lifetime guarantee for Toyota mufflers, shock absorbers, struts and strut inserts. This guarantee is effective with all parts purchased by the customers and installed by an authorized Toyota dealer on or after January 1, 1990.

The following product groups are guaranteed against failure and defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser of the replacement part owns the vehicle on which the part was originally installed by an authorized Toyota dealer.

At the time of purchase and installation, the dealer will provide the customer with a repair order and a copy of the Lifetime Guarantee brochure. The repair order will be considered proof of purchase under the terms of the Guarantee. In order for the customer to obtain a Lifetime Guarantee part replacement, the proof of purchase must be provided to any authorized Toyota dealer.

To claim reimbursement under this guarantee the dealer should submit a warranty claim over the TDN system using the Dealer-Installed Service Part (SP) claim type.

All current warranty documentation and parts retention requirements apply to parts covered under this program.

NOTE: To initiate the Lifetime Guarantee, the customer must have purchased a replacement part which was installed by an authorized Toyota dealer. Parts replaced under other warranties/guarantees and for which the customer did not pay 100% of the parts and labor expense are not covered by the Lifetime Guarantee. Refer to the actual Lifetime Guarantee for additional information.
