Attached please find for your use the 1990 Toyota Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual. Effective immediately, the information in this Manual supersedes all previous Manuals and Warranty Bulletins. Incorporated in the 1990 Policy and Procedures Manual is policy information for previous model years as well as 1990 model year policy. Please destroy any earlier editions of this Manual.
All service, warranty and office personnel who are involved in the area of warranty should be thoroughly familiar with the contents of this manual.
Highlights of the 1990 Policy and Procedures Manual
^ New Warranty Policy for 1990 model year vehicles - 60 months/60,000 miles Powertrain coverage for engine, transmission/transaxle, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and restraint system components. See Section 5 for details.
^ Revised Prior Approval List - prior approval limit for paint, rust perforation and glass replacement repairs has been raised from $100 to $200. See Section 4 for details.
^ Claim preparation hints and guidelines are bulletpointed in Section 6.
^ Authorized Celica convertible service centers are listed in Section 9.
^ Explanation of warranty reimbursement has been expanded to further explain use of the flat rate manual, parts reimbursement and use of the 10206 (Warranty Activity) Report, for details see Section 11.
