REPLACEMENT BATTERY PART NUMBERS FOR OE BATTERIES
This bulletin amends Toyota's policy for replacement of batteries under the new vehicle warranty and the service part warranty.
New Vehicle Battery Warranty
All batteries removed under the guidelines of the new vehicle warranty must be replaced with Toyota 60 month replacement batteries using the designated part numbers noted on the tables in this bulletin, based on model and model year. Use of a replacement battery other than those specifically designated will result in the denial of the corresponding warranty claim.
Service Part Battery Warranty
All Toyota failed service part batteries must be replaced with the applicable 60 month Toyota brand battery.
Test Procedures
Please remember that the test procedures outlined in Policy No. 4.11 of the Toyota Warranty Policy and Procedures Manual must be followed before replacing any battery. Test results (specific gravity, cell readings, and load test) must be accurately recorded on the back of the repair order hard copy and are required in the Condition/Cause/Remedy text of the warranty claim for the replacement of the battery.
