Heater Core: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system.
2. Disconnect suction tube and liquid tube from cooling unit fitting.
NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture out of the system.
3. Remove grommets from inlet and outlet fittings.
4. Remove drain pipe grommet.
5. Remove instrument panel and reinforcement.
6. Disconnect connectors.
7. Remove the cooling unit.
Remove 3 nuts and 4 bolts.
8. Drain engine coolant from radiator.
9. Disconnect water hoses from heater unit.
10. Remove pipe grommets.
11. Disconnect heater unit connector and remove wire harness.
12. Remove four retaining nuts and the heater unit.
Heater Core Removal:
13. Remove heater air duct from heater unit.
14. Remove heater core pipe clamps and pull out heater core with return pipe.
15. Reverse procedure to install.
