Technician Safety Information
1. When disconnecting the high pressure fuel line, a large amount of gasoline will spill out, so observe these procedures:- Put a container under the connection.
- Slowly loosen the connection.
- Disconnect the connection.
- Plug the connection with a rubber plug.
2. When connecting the flare nut or union bolt on the high pressure pipe union, observe these procedures:
Union Bolt Type:
- Always use a new gasket.
- Tighten the union bolt by hand.
- Tighten the union bolt to the specified torque.
Torque: 30 Nm (300 kg.cm, 22 ft.lb)
Flare Nut Type:
- Apply a light coat of engine oil to the flare and tighten the flare nut by hand.
- Using SST, tighten the flare nut to the specified torque. (SST 09631-22020)
HINT: Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 30 cm (11.81 in.).
Torque:
- Fuel pump side: 24 Nm (240 kg.cm, 17 ft.lb)
- Others: 30 Nm (310 kg.cm, 22 ft.lb)
3. Observe these precautions when removing and installing the injectors.
- Never reuse the 0-ring.
- When placing a new 0-ring on the injector, take care not to damage it in any way.
- Coat a new 0-ring with spindle oil or gasoline before installing-never use engine, gear or brake oil.
4. Install the injector to the delivery pipe and intake manifold as shown in the illustration.
