Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
CONDENSER REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
INSTALLATION HINT: Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
Discharging & Evacuating System
Charging the System
Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
Specified amount: 850 ± 50 g (30.00 ± 1.76 oz.)
2. REMOVE RADIATOR FAN AND CONDENSER FAN
Remove the 7 bolts and fans.
3. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER MOUNTINGS
4. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILL
5. REMOVE CONDENSER
a. Disconnect liquid tube and discharge tube.
Torque: 10 N.m (100 kg.cm, 7 ft.lb)
INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.
REMOVAL NOTE: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
b. Remove the 2 upper mounting bolts.
c. Push the radiator toward engine.
d. Push the condenser toward radiator and pull it upward.
INSTALLATION HINT: If condenser was replaced, add compressor oil to the compressor.
Add 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil:
ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
CONDENSER INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order to removal.
