Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair


[1][2]CONDENSER REMOVAL


1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

INSTALLATION HINT: Evacuate air from refrigeration system.

Discharging & Evacuating System

Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.

Charging the System

Specified amount:
600 ± 50 g (21.16 ± 1.76 oz.)







2. REMOVE THESE PARTS:
a. Radiator upper seal.
b. Radiator upper mountings.
c. Air cleaner duct.
d. Engine coolant reservoir tank.
e. Receiver and holder. Service and Repair







3. DISCONNECT LIQUID TUBE AND DISCHARGE HOSE
Remove the 2 bolts and tube and hose.

Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)

REMOVAL NOTE: Cap the open fittings Immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

INSTALLATION HINT: Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes.

4. REMOVE [1][2]CONDENSER







a. Remove the 2 bolts from [1][2]condenser upper mountings.
b. Push the radiator toward the engine.
c. Push the [1][2]condenser toward radiator and pull it upward.

INSTALLATION HINT: If [1][2]condenser was replaced, add compressor oil to compressor.

Add 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.)
Compressor oil:
ND-OIL 8 or equivalent

[1][2]CONDENSER INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
