Production changes have been implemented to improve the performance and function of the console mounted cupholder on 1998 Avalon vehicles. In some cases, customers may be concerned by a sticking/slow operating cupholder.

Countermeasured parts can be Identified by the absence of "Guide Tabs", which were located on the front edges of the cupholder.






Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:

This repair Is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is In effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's complaint.

Repair Procedures

1998 Avalons built prior to the starting VIN listed that exhibit a sticking/slow operating cupholder may be repaired by replacing the cupholder assembly.
