Removal and Installation
REMOVAL1. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISHES
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATES
3. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER
4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIMS
5. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL
6. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
7. REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH
8. REMOVE LOWER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER LH PANEL
10. REMOVE FUSE BOX BOLT
11. REMOVE N0.2 DUCT HEATER TO REGISTER
12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE RELEASE LEVER
13. REMOVE N0.2 UNDER COVER
14. REMOVE LOWER N0.2 FINISH PANEL
15. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT
a. Using a screwdriver, pry out the glove compartment door finish plate inside the glove compartment.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the connector from the glove compartment door finish plate.
c. Disconnect the airbag connector.
NOTE: When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
d. Remove the 3 nuts and glove compartment door.
e. Remove the 4 screws and glove compartment, then disconnect the glove box lamp connector.
16. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and 4 nuts.
Torque:
Bolt: 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
b. Remove the front passenger airbag assembly from the instrument panel.
CAUTION:
- Do not store the front passenger airbag assembly with the airbag deployment side facing down.
- Never disassemble the front passenger airbag assembly.
NOTE: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following items.
- Make sure that the front passenger airbag assembly is installed with the specified torque.
- If the front passenger airbag assembly has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the front passenger airbag assembly with a new one.
- When installing the front passenger airbag assembly, take care that the wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
17. REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
18. REMOVE RADIO
19. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY
20. Floor shift:
REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL
21. Floor shift:
REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX
22. Floor shift:
REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX
23. Column shift:
REMOVE FINISH PANEL
24. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN
25. REMOVE COMBINATION METER
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the cluster finish panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the 6 screws and cluster finish panel assembly
c. Remove the 4 screws and combination meter.
26. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL
a. Disconnect the connectors.
b. Remove the bolts and ground terminals.
c. Remove the 2 nuts and 9 bolts.
d. Remove the instrument panel.
27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT
Remove the parts as shown in the illustration.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
