DOOR LOCK LINKAGE LOOSE

In case of loose/broken snap (door lock control link), which may cause rattle noise in door, replace with modified snap.

AFFECTED VEHICLE: 2000 model year Avalon produced before the VIN below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:





Refer to the 2000 Avalon Repair Manual, pages BO-8 through BO-13.

1. Replace the loose snap (door lock control link clip) with the new snap (P/N69759-AC020).

2. After replacement, confirm the following:
- The door locks and unlocks with the key.
- The inside release handle opens the door from locked and unlocked condition.
- A rattle noise does not occur when opening or closing the door.

- The outside release handle opens the door.
- The lock knob locks/unlocks the door.
