Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

This repair procedure adjusts the No.4 bow of the convertible top assembly to add more pull to the top of the rear window.

1. Unlatch the top and open the top until you can place a block of wood between the top and header (this provides slack in the top material).

2. Remove screw attaching the headliner just below the rear window (shown in illustration) to gain access to the No.4 bow attachment point.

3. With the headliner pulled back, the No.4 bow attachment point is accessible. The No.4 bow is the bow just above the rear window. Loosen the Torx bolts securing the bow and push the bow upward. Only a small amount of movement is necessary (about 3 - 5 mm).

NOTE:
Loosen and adjust one side at a time.

4. Retighten and reassemble all the components and test to confirm closing effort and that appearance is acceptable, and that the popping noise has been eliminated.
