INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHILD SEAT TETHER ANCHOR

This Technical Service Bulletin provides you with the instructions for the installation of a child seat tether anchor.

Center Tether Anchor Installation:





- Locate the soft portion on package tray trim as per illustration at right





- Cut cloth material to produce 26 mm diameter hole

NOTE:
Hardboard has pre-cut hole of appropriate size.

- Install tether anchor with 15 mm (0.6 in) thickness spacer and bolt

- Torque: 16.5~24.7 N-m (168~252 kgf-cm, 12~18 ft. lbf)

Outer Tether Anchor Installation: (R.H. or L.H. side)





1. Japan Production (TMC)

Please refer to TSB# 0546, Ref: GI-001-97 for technical instructions for the above.

NOTE
Commencing end of December 1997 TMC production, the package tray trim design will be changed to incorporate CRS anchor bezels.

2. North American Production (TMMK)





- Remove plug from bezel

HINT:
Using a coin, rotate plug 90 in counter- clockwise direction.

- Install tether anchor with 15 mm (0.6 in) thickness spacer and bolt
- Torque: 16.5 ~ 24.7 N-m (168~252 kgf-cm, 12~18 ft-lbf)

NOTE: Please store the removed plug(s) in the glove box.
