LOW AIR VOLUME FROM A/C SYSTEM


Some 2003 model year Corolla and Matrix owners may experience a condition where the blower volume gradually decreases after about 1-1/2 hours of been determined that, in hot high humidity conditions, the A/C system evaporator is freezing over, blocking the airflow path. An in-line thermistor resistor now available to correct this concern.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2003 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles produced before the VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:







1. Access the A/C sub wire harness.
a) Remove the glove box.
b) Disconnect the connector at the upper left corner of the blower box.







2. Install the thermistor resistor harness.
a) Insert the resistor harness connector into the thermistor harness connector.
b) Insert the vehicle harness connector into the resistor harness connector.

NOTE: Please ensure that the harness is installed vertically. If the harness is installed horizontally it will interfere with the fresh/recirculate door movement.

3. Reinstall the glove box.
