Introduction

Some 2003 model year Corolla and Matrix owners may experience a condition where the blower volume gradually decreases after about 1-1/2 hours of driving. It has been determined that, in hot high humidity conditions, the A/C system evaporator is freezing over, blocking the airflow path. An in-line thermistor resistor harness is now available to correct this concern.

Applicable Warranty *

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure





1. Access the A/C sub-wire harness.

a. Remove the glove box.

b. Disconnect the connector at the upper left corner of the blower box and pull the wire harness down.

2. Install the thermistor resistor harness.

a. Insert the vehicle harness connector into the resistor harness connector.

b. Insert the resistor harness connector into the thermistor harness connector.





Note
Please ensure that the harness is installed horizontally and secured to the brace as shown.

3. Reinstall the glove box.
