CENTER CONSOLE BOX WILL NOT STAY CLOSED

This bulletin provides the recommended repair procedure when the center console door on the 2003 and 2004 model year Matrix will not stay closed.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2003 - 2004 model year Matrix vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove Center Console Box from vehicle. Refer to the ETAS 2004 Model Year Matrix Repair Manual:
Section: Instrument Panel/Meter, Instrument
Subsection: Panel Sub-assembly Lower.







2. Cut a piece of the 3 mm thick felt to the following dimensions:
Felt Size:
Length: 10 mm
Width: 15 mm
Thickness: 3 mm

3. Add the strip of felt to the bottom of each hinge. See illustration for location.
4. Reinstall Center Console Box and confirm proper operation.
