Some 2004 model year Solara vehicles may exhibit a M.I.L. "ON" condition with one of the following DTCs:

- P0748 (Pressure Control Solenoid "A" Electrical--SL1 Solenoid)
- P0798 (Pressure Control Solenoid "C" Electrical -- SL3 Solenoid)
- P0985 (Shift Solenoid "E" Control Circuit Low-- SR Solenoid)
- P0986 (Shift Solenoid "E" Control Circuit High -- SR Solenoid)

One of these codes may be stored as a result of Engine Control Module or ECM (SAE Term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) manufacturing issues. Replacement of ECM will correct this condition.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2004 model year Camry vehicles equipped with 1MZ--FE or 3MZ--FE engines produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

1. Follow repair manual diagnostics for applicable DTC (P0748, P0798, P0985 or P0986) Refer to ETAS, 2004 model year Solara Repair Manual:
Section: Diagnostics;
Subsection: SFI system; P0748 or P0798 or P0985 or P0986

NOTE:
If the ECM is replaced, refer to TSB No. 1172 "Diagnostic Tester Immobilizer Functions" dated January 22, 2003 for information about registering the ECM Communication I.D.
