Introduction
Some customers may experience a thumping noise coming from a combination of the rear upper supports and rear shock absorbers when traveling over bumps or rough road surfaces. Updated rear upper supports and rear shock absorber service parts are available to improve the noise condition.
Applicable Vehicles
^ 2004 model year Camry SE vehicles (North American Produced).

Repair Procedure
1. Conduct a road test to verify the noise condition.
2. Remove and replace both the rear upper supports and both rear shock absorbers by following the procedures in the Technical Information System (TIS), 2004 model year Camry Repair Manual: Rear Suspension: Shock Absorber Assy Rear LH: Replacement.
