Some 2004 Solara vehicles may exhibit a M.I.L. "ON" condition with DTC P0010 (Camshaft Position "A" Actuator Circuit Bank 1) or DTC P0020 (Camshaft Position "A" Actuator Circuit Bank 2) stored as a result of Engine Control Module or ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) manufacturing issues. Replacement of ECM will correct this condition.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
2004 model year Solara vehicles equipped with 3MZ--FE engine produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Follow repair manual diagnostics for applicable DTC (P0010 or P0020) refer to E-TAS 2004 model year Solara Repair Manual:
Section: Diagnostics SFI system
Subsection: P0010 or P0020
2. If circuit tests OK per repair manual - replace ECM
Note:
Following ECM replacement, the vehicle will not start until the ECM Communication I.D.
Registration is completed. To register the ECM Communication ID, refer to ETAS for 2004 model year Solara Repair Manual:
