TSB REVISION NOTICE:
- September 12, 2005: 2006 model year has been added to Applicable Vehicles.
The previous TSB should be discarded.

INTRODUCTION:
As a result of the removal of the Short Pin, the "automatic open and close" and "jam protection" functions of the sliding roof will be inoperative due to loss of the sliding roof position memory stored in the microcomputer.

Therefore, please initialize the sliding roof after installing the Short Pin in its original location during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS) at the dealership.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2005 - 2006 model year Avalon vehicles.

NOTE:
Any time the battery terminal has been disconnected, initialize the sliding roof after reconnecting the battery terminal.

INITIALIZATION:

With ignition switch in the "ON" position, do the following:






1. Push and hold the "TILT UP" side of the switch until the sliding roof tilts all the way up and then tilts down slightly automatically.
2. Ensure that the sliding roof opens automatically by pushing the switch briefly to the "SLIDE OPEN" sides.

NOTE:
Jam protection function becomes effective through the above initialization procedure.
